Watership Down

Richard Adams · 1972 CE · Novel · English · Contemporary

A runt with a gift for foreseeing disaster tells his brother the field is about to be destroyed, and eleven rabbits leave the warren at dusk rather than wait to be believed. Downland, a river and a warren where the food is good and nobody asks questions stand between them and high ground, and a colony without does is only a camp. Adams gave the rabbits a language and a trickster mythology of their own, and took the Carnegie Medal with it.
