The Lord of the Rings
A hobbit inherits a ring that turns out to belong to the Dark Lord, and the only way to be rid of it is to carry it into his country and unmake it where it was made. A company sets out from Rivendell, war reaches Rohan and Gondor, and the burden grows heavier the closer it gets. A quest to destroy rather than seize power; the smallest hands carry the heaviest temptation.
