You Can't Take It with You

Frank Capra · 1938 CE · Film · Modern / American · Modernist

A household of amateur ballerinas, xylophone players and basement firework makers refuses to sell the last house on a block a banker needs for a munitions plant, and the banker's son is engaged to the granddaughter without either family being told. Dinner then gets arranged on the wrong evening. Capra's second best-picture winner, sweetened and made far more political than the Kaufman and Hart comedy it was taken from.
