A Streetcar Named Desire

Tennessee Williams · 1947 CE · Play · Modern / American · Contemporary

Blanche DuBois arrives in New Orleans to stay with her pregnant sister Stella in a two-room flat, having lost the family estate in Mississippi. Her airs and her stories grate on Stella's husband Stanley, who starts checking what she says against what he can find out. A fading Southern belle collides with raw new-world brutality; illusion set against appetite.
