A Woman Under the Influence

John Cassavetes · 1974 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary

A Los Angeles construction foreman brings his night shift home for spaghetti at eight in the morning, and his wife, who has been waiting up alone, greets them with a warmth nobody in the room knows how to take. Her behaviour is read as illness by his mother, and a doctor is called to the house. Cassavetes mortgaged his own property to finance it and distributed it himself when no studio would.
