Buseoksa
Two neighbours, each left by a lover, set out together on a winter journey to the Buseoksa temple and lose their way. The story is told through the pair's halting talk and the loneliness each carries. It won the Yi Sang Literary Award in 2001, the period of Shin's turn from intimate memory fiction toward her wider readership.
