Curse of the Starving Class

Sam Shepard · 1976 CE · Play · Modern / American · Contemporary

The Tate family keep opening a refrigerator that holds nothing, while a sick lamb stands in a pen in the kitchen and the front door lies smashed on the floor where the drunk father put his shoulder through it. Weston and Ella are each selling the avocado ranch out from under the other, to a lawyer and to a developer, and the son and daughter start measuring what they have inherited in the blood. The first of the family plays, and the one that set the kitchen, the ruined father and the poisoned inheritance for the two that followed.
