Eyrbyggja Saga
A settler carries the pillars of his Thor temple from Norway to the Snaefellsnes peninsula and founds an assembly there, and the district's business passes to his cool, calculating descendant Snorri the Priest, who wins more by lawsuit than by weapon. The same farms endure imported berserks, a Hebridean sorceress and a winter of walking dead at Froda. Its subject is less any one man than how a district worked.
