Godzilla

Ishirō Honda · 1954 CE · Film · Japanese · Contemporary

Fishing boats burn and go down off Odo Island, survivors describe a light on the water, and the villagers give what comes ashore in the storm the name of a creature out of their own stories. A palaeontologist reads the radiation in its footprints as residue from hydrogen-bomb testing, while a one-eyed chemist has made something he will not describe. Honda filmed Tokyo's destruction eight months after Bikini.
