Good Morning, Vietnam

Barry Levinson · 1987 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary

An Armed Forces Radio disc jockey is flown into Saigon in 1965 and opens each broadcast with a shout and a run of improvised voices, to the delight of the troops and the alarm of the sergeant who censors the news wire. Off duty he teaches an English class and follows a local girl home, which brings him into the company of her brother. Levinson built the whole thing around Robin Williams improvising at a microphone.
