Gravity

Alfonso Cuarón · 2013 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary

A medical engineer on her first shuttle mission is servicing a telescope when debris from a destroyed satellite tears through the shift and cuts her loose in her suit, with a veteran astronaut talking her down by radio. What follows is a chain of transfers between wrecked stations on dwindling oxygen. Cuarón's long takes and simulated weightlessness won him the directing Oscar.
