Children of Men
Eighteen years after the last human birth, a London civil servant is pulled out of his routine by his ex-wife, now running an activist cell that needs transit papers for a young refugee. The papers require an escort, and the route out of the city runs through an internment queue, a farmhouse and a coastal town under fire. Cuarón's long unbroken takes, staged on a purpose-built camera rig, are why the film is taught.
