Manhattan
Woody Allen · 1979 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary
A television comedy writer quits his job to write a book, dates a seventeen-year-old he keeps apologising for, and becomes entangled with the brittle journalist his married best friend is seeing on the side. Everyone talks brilliantly about their own bad behaviour, against black-and-white skylines and Gershwin. Allen's most beautiful work is also the one his later life has made hardest to look at.
