Midnight Run
A former Chicago police officer working as a bounty hunter takes a job bringing an accountant from New York to Los Angeles inside five days, and finds the man skimmed fifteen million from a mob boss and gave it away. Neither the FBI nor a rival hunter nor the mob wants the delivery made, so the pair cross the country by freight train, bus and stolen car. Brest's road comedy is the best written of the decade's buddy pictures.
