Seven Guitars
Friends gather in a Pittsburgh backyard in 1948 after a funeral and go back over the spring, when Floyd Barton got out of the workhouse to find the record he cut a year earlier playing on the radio. He needs a guitar out of pawn, a parole signature and the fare back to Chicago, while Hedley keeps chickens in the yard and waits on a promised deliverance. The cycle's 1940s entry sits closest to the blues that set Wilson writing.
