Sweet and Sour Milk

Nuruddin Farah · 1979 CE · Novel · East African · Contemporary

Soyaan, an economic adviser to the General, dies in a night of stomach pain, and his twin brother Loyaan, a dentist up from the provinces, begins asking what he had been writing and who else was in the room. Their father is an old colonial policeman still loyal to the regime, and the friends arriving with condolences are the same men filing reports. First of the three books Farah grouped as Variations on the Theme of an African Dictatorship.
