Thank You, Jeeves

P. G. Wodehouse · 1934 CE · Novel · English · Modernist

A dispute over Bertie Wooster's banjolele costs him his flat and his valet in a single morning, and he retreats to a cottage on the Somerset estate of a friend who has promptly hired Jeeves away from him. His former fiancée then arrives by yacht with her millionaire father, the cottage burns, and a good part of one night is spent in a potting shed. The first full-length outing for the pair, and the one whose blackface material later editions cut.
