The Code of the Woosters
Sent to sneer at a silver cow-creamer his aunt wants prised out of its Gloucestershire owner, Bertie Wooster finds the house also holds an unwanted fiancée, a stolen policeman's helmet, a notebook of libels, and an amateur dictator leading a party of Black Shorts. The code forbids letting a friend down, which is how he ends up burgling on behalf of two of them. The tightest-plotted of the farces, and the one that puts a Mosley figure in the way.
