The Big Lebowski

Two thugs break into a Venice bungalow, soak the rug of an unemployed bowler with the same name as a Pasadena millionaire, and the aggrieved tenant goes to the millionaire for a replacement, leaving with a job as the bagman in his young wife's kidnapping. His Vietnam-haunted bowling partner keeps escalating everything. The Coens hang a Chandler plot on a man with no interest in solving it.
