The Blair Witch Project

Daniel Myrick, Eduardo Sánchez · 1999 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary

Three students carry a camera and a sound rig into the Maryland woods to interview locals about a legend, lose the map, and find bundles of sticks in the branches each morning while something circles the tent at night. The recordings are presented as all that was recovered. Made for a reported sixty thousand dollars and sold through a website treating the footage as evidence, it created found-footage horror.
