The Goodbye Girl

Herbert Ross · 1977 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary

A former dancer raising a ten-year-old in a Manhattan apartment is left by the actor she lives with, who has sublet the flat out from under her to another actor arriving from Chicago that night. The new tenant is rehearsing Richard III for a director who wants the part played as a mincing caricature. Neil Simon wrote it for Marsha Mason, and Richard Dreyfuss became the youngest Best Actor winner to that date.
