El burlador de Sevilla

Tirso de Molina · c. 1630 CE · Play · Spanish · Renaissance

A Spanish nobleman gets into a duchess's bedroom in Naples under another man's name, escapes by sea, promises marriage to the fisherwoman who saves him and then to a peasant bride, and answers every warning of judgment with the same line: there is time enough yet. In Seville he kills the commander whose daughter he tries next, then finds the dead man's stone effigy and invites it to supper.
