The Master

Paul Thomas Anderson · 2012 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary

A drifting navy veteran with a taste for improvised alcohol stows away on a yacht and is taken up by the genial author of a movement promising to clear the mind of its past lives. The two men circle each other through processing sessions, jail cells and desert stunts. Anderson shot on 65mm, and the result is now routinely named among the decade's strongest American work.
