Men in the Sun

Ghassan Kanafani · 1963 CE · Novel · Arabic · Contemporary

Three Palestinians of three different generations pay a driver to carry them from Basra to Kuwait inside the empty water tank of his lorry, hidden through the border posts in the August heat. Each has a reason for going and none has papers. The most widely read Arabic novella of its generation, it was filmed as The Dupes in 1972, the year Kanafani was killed in Beirut.
