The Just Assassins
Moscow, February 1905: a cell of Socialist Revolutionaries prepares to bomb the Grand Duke's carriage, and the poet chosen to throw it does not, because there are two children on the seat beside him. The group reconvenes to argue whether a scruple of that kind betrays the cause or is the only thing separating them from what they are fighting. Camus worked from Boris Savinkov's memoir of the group and kept the historical names.
