White Fang

Jack London · 1906 CE · Novel · Modern / American · Modernist

A wolf-dog cub born in the Yukon wild learns the law of meat from his mother, then passes through an Indian camp, a brutal owner who makes him a pit fighter, and a Californian mining engineer. Each master teaches him a different lesson about what a raised hand means. London described the book as the exact reverse of Buck's story — a wild creature brought in rather than a tame one driven out.
