Some Like It Hot

Billy Wilder · 1959 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary

Two Chicago musicians who witness a garage full of bodies on St Valentine's Day get out of town in wigs and heels with an all-female band bound for Florida. One falls for the singer and invents a millionaire to court her with; the other is courted in earnest by a real one. Released without a Production Code seal, its success helped make the Code unenforceable, and its reputation as the funniest American comedy has held.
