The Last of the Mohicans
In the New York colony in 1757 a white man raised Mohican falls in with a British column escorting the commander's daughters to a fort the French have already invested, guided by a Huron scout with reasons of his own. The siege ends in a negotiated withdrawal and an ambush in open country. Mann's version of Cooper is remembered for the pursuit through the forest and for Trevor Jones's score.
