Close Encounters of the Third Kind

Steven Spielberg · 1977 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary

An Indiana lineman sent out on a night of mass power failures is caught in a light above a level crossing and comes home with sunburn down one side of his face and a shape he cannot stop building out of shaving foam, mashed potato and finally mud. A mother whose small son was taken from the house is drawing the same shape. Spielberg built the sets in a Mobile airship hangar and refused to make the visitors hostile.
