Rashomon
Sheltering under a ruined gate in the rain, a woodcutter and a priest describe the trial they have come from: a samurai found dead in a grove, his wife assaulted, a notorious bandit in custody. The bandit, the wife, the dead man through a medium, and the woodcutter each give an account, and no two of them fit. The 'Rashomon effect' named here.
