The Gold Rush

Charlie Chaplin · 1925 CE · Film · Modern / American · Modernist

A lone prospector trudges into the Klondike, shelters in a cabin with a starving giant who begins to see him as a walking chicken, and boils a boot for dinner in a blizzard with no end. Down in the dance hall he pins everything on a woman who barely knows he exists, and rehearses a New Year's supper for guests who may not come. Chaplin took the Donner Party as his starting point and named this the one he wanted remembered.
