The Robber Bride

Margaret Atwood · 1993 CE · Novel · Modern / American · Contemporary

Three women who met at university in Toronto have lunch together every month, bound less by affection than by the friend who took something irreplaceable from each of them and then obligingly died. Halfway through the meal she walks into the restaurant. Atwood inverts a tale from the Grimms in which a bridegroom lures women home to be eaten, and gives the appetite to a woman instead.
