The Treasure of the Sierra Madre

John Huston · 1948 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary

Two Americans down to begging in Tampico put their last stake in with an old prospector who has been rich and broke twice already and knows what gold does to men. They work a claim high in the Durango sierra, agree on a three-way split, and start watching each other and the trail behind them. Huston took the unit into Mexico when studios still built their deserts on the back lot, and directed his father to an Oscar.
