The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

C. S. Lewis · 1952 CE · Novel · English · Contemporary

A painting of a ship floods out of its frame and drops two children and their sour cousin into the eastern sea, where the young king of Narnia is sailing past the known islands to find seven lords his uncle exiled. Landfalls bring slavers, a hoard that turns a sulking boy into a dragon, a pool that gilds whatever touches it, and hosts who will not be seen. The most episodic of the seven, and the one Lewis called a book about the spiritual life.
