A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court

Mark Twain · 1889 CE · Novel · Modern / American · Victorian

A Hartford arms-factory foreman takes a crowbar to the head and wakes on the grass outside Camelot in the year 528, condemned to burn and saved by an eclipse he happens to remember. Installed as the Boss beside Merlin, he gives the sixth century telephones, gunpowder and newspapers, and rides out with Sandy to see what chivalry costs the people under it. Twain's blackest comedy, and the book that made Malory raw material for satire.
