A Moon for the Misbegotten

Eugene O'Neill · 1947 CE · Play · Modern / American · Contemporary

Josie Hogan runs her father's stony Connecticut tenant farm, is bigger and stronger than any man in the county, and keeps up a loud reputation for having had most of them. Their landlord is Jim Tyrone, an actor drinking himself to death on the proceeds of his mother's estate, whom Josie's father means her to marry before the farm can be sold out from under them. They arrange a night together on the steps under a full moon, each of them intending something other than what the night turns out to be for.
