Don Quixote
An elderly Spanish gentleman reads so many chivalric romances that he takes down old armor, renames a farm horse, and rides out as a knight-errant with a neighboring farmer as his squire. The two cross a Spain of inns, mule drivers and windmills, where people either take him for a madman or find it amusing to play along. The idealist who rides out to meet a world that no longer believes in him.
