The Book of Revelation

Christian scripture · c. 95 CE · Scripture · Judeo-Christian · Classical

Addressed to seven churches in Asia Minor, it records the visions given to John on Patmos, beginning with letters of praise and rebuke to each congregation. Then come the scroll and its seals, the trumpets, beasts out of the sea and the earth, a woman on a scarlet beast, bowls of wrath, and a city coming down adorned like a bride. History's end told in burning symbol.
