Faust, Part Two
The scholar wakes on a meadow healed of his memory and is carried to an emperor's bankrupt court, where Mephistopheles settles the treasury by inventing paper money. The two then go looking for Helen of Troy through a Walpurgis Night of Greek spirits, and later out to a coastline that can be won back from the sea with dykes and forced labour. Sealed by Goethe and published the year he died, after sixty years' work.
