Spellbound

Alfred Hitchcock · 1945 CE · Film · Modern / American · Contemporary

The incoming head of a Vermont mental hospital arrives far younger than expected, blanches at dark lines drawn across white, and cannot account for his own signature. A staff analyst who has fallen for him hides him from the police and takes him to her old teacher to have the missing memory recovered. Selznick, then in analysis himself, put psychoanalysis at the centre and hired Salvador Dalí for the dream.
