The Lady Vanishes

Alfred Hitchcock · 1938 CE · Film · English · Modernist

Snow strands a trainload of travellers in a Balkan inn, and when the line reopens a young Englishwoman wakes from a blow to the head to find that the elderly governess who sat opposite her is gone and that every passenger denies having seen her. Two Englishmen anxious about a cricket score would rather not get involved. The last of Hitchcock's British thrillers, and the one that won him the Selznick contract.
