Paradise Lost
It opens in hell, where Satan and the rebel angels come to after their defeat and resolve to strike at God through the new world just made. The poem then turns to Eden, to Adam and Eve at work and in conversation with an archangel, and to the serpent waiting in the garden. The grandest retelling of humanity's first disobedience.
