A dimpled white spider on a white heal-all holds up a moth like a piece of rigid satin cloth, and the speaker assembles the three of them as assorted characters of death and blight mixed ready to begin the morning right. The flower is normally blue; something brought it white to that height, and steered the white moth thither in the night. Fourteen lines that put the old argument from design under a magnifying glass and leave the question of what governs a thing so small hanging over it.
