Henry V

William Shakespeare · c. 1599 CE · Play · English · Renaissance

The wild prince of the Henry IV plays is now king, and takes a claim on the French throne as reason for war. The campaign runs from Harfleur to the mud at Agincourt, where he walks the camp in disguise the night before and argues with his own soldiers about what a king owes the men he brought there. Patriotic pageant with doubt sewn into its lining.
