Troilus and Cressida

William Shakespeare · c. 1602 CE · Play · English · Renaissance

In the seventh year of the siege the Greek camp is stalled by Achilles sulking in his tent, while the Trojan council debates whether Helen is worth what she costs. Troilus and Cressida are brought together by her uncle Pandarus, and then she is traded to the Greeks for a captured prisoner. The Trojan War stripped of glamour: heroes vain, love faithless, honor a commodity.
