Love's Labour's Lost

William Shakespeare · c. 1595 CE · Play · English · Renaissance

The King of Navarre and three companions swear off women for three years of study, and the Princess of France arrives with three ladies inside the week. The men fall at once, hide it from each other, then break cover and set about courting in disguise and bad verse. The most verbally dazzling of the early comedies, built almost entirely out of wordplay.
