A duke's daughter is banished from a usurped court and goes into the forest of Arden disguised as a boy, with her cousin and a court fool for company. The young man she has fallen for is hiding there too, from a brother who wants him dead, and she offers to cure him of love by letting him practice on 'Ganymede'. 'All the world's a stage' spoken from the greenwood.
