Jason has put aside the wife who betrayed her own family to win him the Golden Fleece, and is marrying the daughter of the king of Corinth. Medea, foreign, brilliant and under sentence of exile, asks for one more day in the city and gets it. Betrayal answered with the most terrible revenge a mother can devise.
